Xue Lei's Porcelain Crushed Cans

            Xue Lei’s “Drinking Tea” series consists of crumpled soda cans made out of porcelain and traditional blue and white ink designs. It cleverly combines ancient Chinese craft with the manufactured technique in factories. I find it very appealing because he takes something that is malleable and creates something so fragile. To me, the work goes along with the saying “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”
