Oriana
Kacicek was born in Pennsylvania in 1986. She grew up exposed to different
types of art from literature, visual arts, and ballet. At the young age of 7,
she started training for ballet in hopes to aspire for a career in dancing. She
performed in theaters in New York and even the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
Oriana also visited a number of museums. Within these museums, she discovered
that the visual arts and dancing are not so different art forms in that both “reveal
truth and beauty, demand the utmost in time and attention, and must be grounded
in good technique.” Many of her paintings are subjects of food or relating to
ballet. Her goal is manipulating the lighting to create a certain atmosphere
within each work.
